Starting off down under as Coca-Cola celebrated Australia’s love for summer with their Coke Rewards Program. All Aussies had to do was buy a bottle of Coke, Diet Coke or Coke Zero and register at Coke Rewards for a chance to win a massive $5K daily cash prize and other summer paraphernalia including hammocks and mini BBQs.

Kroger – ‘It’s Your Great American Summer’

Kroger, one of America’s largest grocers, wanted to celebrate the summer in style!

Customers used their rewards card to be automatically entered into the ‘It’s Your Great American Summer’ contest by purchasing popular brands such as Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Nestle in any of their stores nationwide.

Prizes included free gas for an entire year, holidays, GoPros and $100,000 in other prizes.

Foster’s – ‘Summer of Good Calls’

The Foster’s ‘Good Call’ campaign was really brought to life as they rolled out their ‘Summer of Good Calls’. Foster’s gave away 1,000 boom box coolers, just in time for the summer months. This offer was exclusive to Sainsbury’s. This is a great example of how sales promotions can tie into any campaign when planned correctly.

Blossom Hill – ‘Glass on the Grass’

Blossom Hill’s ‘Glass on the Grass’ promotion offered consumers the chance to win tickets to hundreds of outdoor events across the UK.

The on-pack communication drove consumers to the dedicated Blossom Hill Facebook page, where they entered their unique code from the bottle and also had the chance to win more prizes on the social media page such as picnic rugs.

Budweiser – ‘Ice Cold App’

Olden but golden! The Budweiser Ice Cold app put the Irish pub at the forefront of (then) new mobile social networking technology, attracting interest and conversation from the technology-hungry,  18 to 34 year-old market. Budweiser gave away free pints of Budweiser when temperatures reached 20°C or higher and all customers had to do was download the Budweiser App and present a unique code to participating bars. The app also offered €2 off when it reached 18°C or 19°C, with €1 off if the temperature hit 16°C or 17°C.

Visa – ‘Summer is Calling’

And finally, this summer Visa has teamed up with the Marriott hotel chain to bring customers some summer savings on your next trip to Europe. Pay for a minimum 2-night stay using a Visa card and customers receive a $25 credit (or local equivalent) at participating hotels. This is a great example of  effective partnership marketing too!
